Solving the "No Coolers Allowed" Dilemma

Earlier this summer, we headed out to a wonderful outdoor Jazz event. When we got there we were surprise to find the security guards turning people away who had coolers! Many outdoor events are going cooler free. Well we have the perfect solution! Our Activo Tote, Zuma Backpack and Duet wine bags are all cooler lined bags! They are easy to carry and won’t get stopped like those rolling coolers! They are great for the beach or the pool, hiking in the mountains or heading to a soccer game. We have styles filled with snacks if you want to send them as a gift, or add an extra treat for yourself, or you can order them empty!

Experiential Gifting: Building Excitement before, during and after Events

It's the dilemma every meeting planner and exhibit producer encounters in the quest for meeting excellence: Vegas IndulgenceHow, in a competitive market driven by ever-tightening budgets, do you set yourself apart from the myriad of run-of-the-mill options currently used?"The answer is simple." say Robin Renken of A Warm Wish, a Las Vegas based experiential gifting company. " The key is to find budget-driven gifting incentives to make attendees feel special while firmly reinforcing the Event messaging at the same time." Gifting to attendees and exhibitors is nothing new. What is new is an approach to the philosophy of gifting that creates unique experiences tailor made to strengthen the meeting planners program. Consider the impact of a three part gifting program developed by A Warm Wish, that is sent before, during and after an event. Each part incorporates specific messaging to build excitement and anticipation.

First, a week or two before the event, a small gift is mailed to key attendees, reminding them to "save the Date" and visit specific booths, hear special speakers or attend certain events and parties. This gift includes ad specialty items with corporate logos: items unique to the meeting, event schedules, maps or VIP tickets.

During the show gifting, while more complex can make a significant impact on attendee's. Although it shows you care and that the attendee is appreciated it can involve a unique set of logistical problems. "you can't just drop gifts off with the hotel bell desk and hope they're delivered to the right room" Renken explained. "gifts very often need to be stored until the requested tim for the room drops. Some properties have special procedures for this type of deliveries. You have to coordinate things to be sure the gifts are delivered at the appropriate time, to the correct location, making it as simple as possible for the hotel and worry free for the meeting planner."

Finally, there's a farewell or follow up gift given at the last session or mailed afterward to attendee's as a great way to wrap up the event and build excitement for further communication or even for the next year's show. "In our three step marketing gifting we look to create one of kind experiences to fit the event or meeting." Renken said. "We include ad specialty items to reflect the company colors and image to reinforce the energy building gift with items to help people enjoy their stay, or perhaps it's more business related with notepads, pens and energy drinks to get them through a busy session of meetings and seminars."

Renken says you should have fun with gifting to offset the more "business-like" feel of long days full of sessions. "We have a fun-filled gift for Las Vegas Attendees called 'It's Vegas Baby'. Renken added. " It comes in a slick black box and clear cylinder filled with Vegas Chips(Kettle Chips), spring water, a tin of vegas mints, a deck of playing cards, sunglasses, aspirin, a vegas postcard, and a Wash Away your sins towelette. It's very popular and sets the tone of excitement and anticipation of memories yet to happen." Whatever the theme or idea of your experiential gift, make sure the gift is specific to the meeting and unique. "it's not about putting cheese and crackers in a basket anymore" Renken said "an Experiential Gift is meant to send an emotion and create familiarity. We hear all the time from meeting planners that the hit of the show is to have the attendees commenting on how special the gifting process made them feel. Renken said experiential gift giving can extend beyond thanking clients and expressing appreciation to attendees.

According to recent research by the Incentive Federation, an umbrella organization that conducts lobbying and research efforts on behalf of the incentive industry, more than one in three US companies used gift giving to recognize or motivate employees last year. "Regardless of who the recipients are, sending them a unique gift that confirms you know their likes and lifestyle will help build long term relationships and create a buzz for months and years to come." Renken Said
